Tempered label is a small-batch, hand marbling label founded in Chicago by two best friends. We met in 2016 and became nearly instant friends and shortly after, business partners. We started making art together for play in 2018, first with watercolor and then paper marbling.

Tempered was born from those sessions of art play and continues to be a reason, excuse, and motivation for us to hang out and be creative for no other reason than joy! Tempered is a never-ending well of trials and errors, successes, humbling moments, and rewards.

Tempered is different in each moment, each piece of paper, each shirt, each drop of color on the size. It is a teacher of magic and we share that magic through our pieces.
